PACKAGE DESCRIPTIONThe upcoming Piedmont Augusta Symphony Series season, SEVENTIETH, celebrates seventy years of musical excellence in Augusta. This exultant orchestral journey includes pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich, composed and released at the time of the Symphony’s founding; musical movie scores from the Symphony’s early years; and additional storied works that span centuries and continents. In addition to time-honored classics by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart, this season features music by three living composers.
