Ghostly Kisses is the dreamy pop music of singer songwriter Margaux Sauvé. The name Ghostly Kisses was inspired from reading William Faulkner’s poem Une ballade des dames perdues and seemed like the perfect reflection of her ethereal voice.
KROY is a Montreal based multi-disciplinary artist. Described as a visionary, her soaring voice and bold pop explorations have garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Nylon, FADER, Complex, Noisey, and more. In recent years, KROY has lent her vocals and lyrics to producers, in addition to scoring for film. She returns to unveil the fruits of her lyrical and musical obsessions in a new hyper infused era. KROY, still macabre oriented, features new dark pop melodies that sometimes veer towards country goth inspired by love, death, robots, space and the deep ocean.

For folk singer Willi Carlisle, singing is healing. And by singing together, he believes we can begin to reckon with the inevitability of human suffering and grow in love. On his latest album, Critterland, Carlisle invites audiences to join him: "If we allow ourselves to sing together, there's a release of sadness, maybe even a communal one. And so for me personally, singing, like the literal act of thinking through suffering, is really freeing," he says.
Rooted in the eclectic and collective world of his live shows, Carlisle's third album, Critterland takes up where his sophomore album, Peculiar, Missouri left off, transforming Peculiar's big tent into a Critterland menagerie and letting loose the weirdos he gathered together. The album is a wild romp through the backwaters of his mind and America, lingering in the odd corners of human nature to visit obscure oddballs, dark secrets, and complicated truths about the beauty and pain of life and love.
Produced by the GRAMMY Award-nominated Darrell Scott and to be released Jan. 26, 2024 by Signature Sounds, Critterland considers where we come from and where we are going. On the album, he takes on human suffering through stories about forbidden love, loss, generational trauma, addiction, and suicide, believing that by processing the traits and trauma we inherit, he can reach a deeper understanding of what it means to succeed and to exist.
"In many ways, the suffering that has gotten us here is going to control us. Our superstition and our prejudice is going to control us," Carlisle says. "But in another way, we're physiologically set up to be instantaneously expressive of all of those feelings. And what comes out in moments of collectivity, is not just singing, but what I'd hope is a national reckoning with these various different kinds of suffering."
Throughout Critterland runs Carlisle's unease with the tension between love and the reality of an often painful world. He's adamant that everyone should find and feel love, including queer love, love with no reproductive purpose, and love of ourselves; "I think at the heart of the record is the conflict between those two things, between doomed love and the possibility that that love creates," he says.
But for Carlisle, finding the possibilities that love creates is often tinged with profound sadness, and he describes Critterland as "more of a Sunday morning crier than a Saturday night banger." On "The Arrangements," he speaks as a son ruminating on the traits he's inherited from an imperfect father as he prepares for the man's funeral; in "Dry County Dust," he revels in the simple trappings of country life he loves intimately, like home-made jam and backyard chickens, all while considering the shackles of expectation; in "The Great Depression," a dust bowl ballad heavy with implications for our current era, Carlisle leans on the term's double meaning; with "I Want No Children," he unapologetically requests that his family name die with him; and in the album's final track, "The Money Grows on Trees," he crafts an outlaw tale into a seven-minute indictment of capitalism and greed.
Blues isn’t just twelve bars and a hard luck story. On his debut record, Hard Times and a Woman, guitarist and songwriter Justin Golden showcases the full breadth of the genre and its downstream influences, everything from country blues to Americana, soul, indie roots and beyond. Golden was raised on the Virginia coast and is steeped in the distinctive, fingerpicked Piedmont blues of the central part of the state.

Brisbane band Sheppard’s fourth album Zora is personal - from the title down. Zora isn’t only the name of the Sheppard siblings’ family matriarch and Croatian grandma – who superfans will recognise as one of their own, a regular at live shows. "Baba, as we call her, has always been a beacon for light in our lives, always been positive,” Amy Sheppard explains. “She’s had a really, really hard life. She came over to Australia on a ship to escape war in Yugoslavia and built a life for herself here. She worked multiple jobs. She met the love of her life who passed away from cancer when he was only fifty, leaving her to raise seven children. She’s been through the toughest of times and yet she is always smiling, always looking at the bright side.” That positive attitude and unrelenting resilience is imprinted in not only the Sheppard siblings’ DNA, but it resonates all through their glass-half-full pop music. They were finishing their fourth album while navigating Covid, lockdowns, music industry upheavals and personal struggles. “A lot of the songs were about finding that light at the end of the tunnel,” Amy continues. “We were trying to find a name for the album and came up with words like ‘sunrise’ that weren’t quite right. While we were brainstorming Emma’s husband said ‘What’s ‘dawn’ in Croatian?’ So we looked and it was ‘Zora’. It was so fortuitous, we got goosebumps and just believed it was meant to be.” Zora has already been previewed with a run of acclaimed singles: Good Time, Daylight, Dance on the Sun and Edge of the Earth. It arrives as Sheppard have followed through on their goal of relocating to Nashville to capitalise on their immense international appeal. It’s now 10 years since they charmed the globe with their debut album Bombs Away and the wildly-catchy Geronimo – a song which has now had over two billion streams. Sheppard's journey continues with "Zora," a testament to resilience, growth, and the enduring power of dreams.

Nourished By Time, the Baltimore based songwriter/producer with a unique blend of New Wave, R&B, and Dance, Nourished By Time's music explores themes of existentialism, love, consumerism and their relationship with labor. The project was initially created in Los Angeles (where the artist used to live in Koreatown) at the end of 2019. After two years of failure and artistic differences with a creative partner, the impulsive artist abruptly left LA and drove solo across the country, back to his hometown of Baltimore. Where they would work odd jobs, attempt to recover mentally, fall In love, get heartbroken and obsessively write songs under Nourished By Time. In 2022, the artist had their first label release with the 2 song Erotic Probiotic — EP under the London indie label Scenic Route. This year NBT joined 4AD's post punk band Dry Cleaning on a 20 stop tour of North America as well as a remix of their album track 'Gary Ashby.' Continuing to build his collaborative credentials, he also features on progressive electronic artist Yaeji's debut album, With A Hammer on XL Recordings. This all before dropping his critically acclaimed album Erotic Probiotic 2, picked up Pitchfork's 'Best New Music' and featured on 'Best Of 2024' lists on Gorilla vs Bear (#1), Pitchfork (#5), The Guardian, The Fader, Paste and more. 2024 has kicked off with the announcement of Nourished By Time signing to the iconic UK imprint XL Recordings, returning with his new EP, Catching Chickens released on 22 March digitally and on 12" vinyl. Written between 2022 — 2023 in his home studio in Baltimore, Catching Chickens takes inspiration from the iconic scene in Rocky II where his trainer makes him chase and catch chickens as a test of agility. With tracks like "Hell of a Ride," in which Nourished By Time contemplates the fall of the American empire and late-stage capitalism loneliness, and "Had Ya Called," which deals with the frustrations of growing distance in friendships, Nourished By Time chronicles his own test of agility as he weaves through the motions of his newfound notability. Support across The Face, Flaunt, Pitchfork, Hypebeast, Pigeons & Planes, Loud & Quiet, BBC 6 Music and more. "Arthur Russell meets Daft Punk but deep R&B…the only new music I absolutely swear is next level." – Oneohtrix Point Never "Nourished By Time can touch feelings that cannot be put into words" – Yaeji "a DIY pop star who turns every limitation into an asset." – Pitchfork "Marcus Brown's blend of '90s R&B and '80s freestyle is so impressive because it appears to have arrived fully formed" – Paste Magazine "an artist adept at extracting elements from music's past and creating something uniquely individual." – The FADER
urika’s bedroom hides in plain site; focused and alive. You hear the noise and hiss; cracking through the digital heat. “It’s not quiet here, but at least there is understanding” , urika adds. After years of touring as a multi - instrumentalist (2070, St. Panther, Youth Lagoon) and producing for artists like LA outfit untitled (halo), Los Angeles transplant urika’s bedroom returns to his personal practice with debut single “Junkie”. The self - produ ced track was mixed by Sonny DiPerri (DIIV, Animal Collective, Portugal. The Man), and sees distorted drums and static soaked guitars meet stung and whispered vocals. A birdsong or a siren speaking sweetly through a wall of chaos, urika offers a clear and welcome respite from the noise of a shifting reality.

Her debut album, People Pleaser has been described as “not just an album but a journey of relationships, the ones we have with others and the ones we have with ourselves.” Some of her collaborations include being featured on Lizzy McAlpine's LP, Give Me A Minute, as well as with Cisco Swank, and Scary Pockets. Laura has embraced new audiences and is well on her way to expanding her fanbase even further with her forthcoming EP, Car Sick.

Inspired by lyrically centered artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks, Kayla has found her unique niche in the folk-pop world for people who love to feel --the good and the bad-- as deeply as she does. Currently based in Nashville, TN, Kayla is avidly writing and collaborating with as many creatives as possible to gear up for her next project. Nashville based singer-songwriter, Abby Holliday, has been writing songs for as long as she can recall. The 25-year-old burgeoning young artist is best known for exploring serious themes without taking herself too seriously. Bearing resemblance to the sonic qualities of female icons Phoebe Bridgers and Japanese House, Holliday’s songwriting is a unique intersection of sad vibes, introspective lyricism, and modern pop-sensibility. Holliday attempts to examine her external world as a skeptic — not a cynic — and her internal world with honesty — not cruelty. By way of the journal entries that she calls her songs, Holliday invites others to do the very same.
Brother Bird is music that lives in tight, intimate spaces, based on real experience, and full of the embarrassments and small indignities that come with being human, as filtered through the eyes and pen of Caroline Glaser, professionally known as Brother Bird. The 2024 album, ‘another year’, follows her 2018 self-titled EP where she embraces an intimate, ethereal style of indie rock, and the debut of her 2021 full-length album, gardens both produced by her close friends, Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra. Caroline has toured with Manchester Orchestra on their co-headlining tour with The Front Bottoms and has opened up for artists such as Pete Yorn, Kevin Devine, Matt Pryor, Pinegrove, and Bad Books, a band led by Kevin Devine and members of Manchester Orchestra. In addition, Caroline sang back-vocals on the Bad Books II: Revisited anniversary record that was released in October.

After five months of not picking up an instrument, The Dead Tongues’ Ryan Gustafson wanted to get rid of everything that was tied to his identity as a musician. He even thought about changing his name. He was getting ready to throw out old notebooks packed with years of material but, for some reason, he decided to stop and go through them, just to see if there was anything worth saving. And sure enough, he found some images and lyrics, threads from former selves he didn’t want to lose. Thus was the catalyst for Dust, his fifth and best album as The Dead Tongues. Gustafson recorded Dust in nine days, the fastest he’d ever recorded anything. It was the fastest he’d ever written anything, too – in the past, writing a song would take months, but this time he somehow felt freer, and wanted to have fun. The record was recorded at Sylvan Esso’s studio, Betty’s, in the woods of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He built it out with help from a number of his musician friends - Joe Westerlund (Watchhouse, Megafaun, Califone) on drums, Andrew Marlin (Watchhouse) on mandolin, backing vocals from Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Molly Sarlé of Mountain Man, among others. Dust is meant to be listened to while taking a night drive, farflung and roving and existential. Somewhere between the expansiveness of American jamband and the banjo-centric folk songwriting of Gustafson’s Appalachia home. Gustafson explains the thematic throughline succinctly: “It’s this idea of uprooting and rebirth and cycles, and the past informing the future, and the future informing the past. There is no single story. Everything is connected.”

Infinity Song is a Soft Rock band based in New York City comprised of 4 siblings, Abraham, Angel, Israel, and Momo Boyd. With a blend of tight vocal harmonies, dreamy lyricism and sublime guitar riffs, the band creates a transcendent experience for the audience on every stage and in their recorded music. Homeschooled academically and musically, along with their 5 other brothers and sisters, by parents who founded the Boys & Girls Choirs of Detroit, the siblings have performed in front of audiences since Pre-K. They were raised on classical, gospel and jazz, like Pat Methany, Marvin Gaye, The Winans Family and many others. Infinity Song’s journey was a labored yet adventurous climb. In 2006, the Boyd patriarch, John Boyd, relocated the entire family from Detroit to New York and they began performing publicly all around the city. Singing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the morning, on 5th Avenue in the afternoon and Times Square at night, eventually Central Park’s Bethesda Fountain became a permanent stage for the next 12 years of their lives. After several years of developing a following and turning casual park visitors into loyal fans, the group was introduced to Jay-Z. In 2016, the band was signed to Roc Nation by Jay-Z, who advised them to not conform to the label’s artistic culture, but rather allow Roc Nation’s artistic culture to catch up to them. 4 years later in 2020, the siblings made a giant splash with their debut album “Mad Love” and several viral videos that amassed millions of views across all social media sites, garnering attention and support from some of Hollywood’s biggest names. Infinity Song is currently reeling from the reception of their now viral single, Haters Anthem, that is being released ahead of their next project. With over 200 million people having heard the song, an endorsement by popstar Doja Cat, and a number of press write ups, the catchy single is making waves all around the world. Even leading many listeners to compare the band to legendary 70s groups such as Fifth Dimension, The Mamas and The Papas, and ABBA. With this amount of excitement surrounding their next project, Infinity Song is ready to continue to solidify their place in the space where great music is being created in today’s culture.
